B2B: companies and trade buyers
This theme treats a company buyer as a trade customer: someone you have approved, buying for a company you created in Shopify. Company buyers see their own prices, quantity rules and the trade tools. Everyone else is a guest or a retail customer.
Set up a trade buyer
- In Shopify admin, open Customers › Companies › Add company. Add the company, a location and the buyer as a contact.
- Give the location a catalog with its prices and quantity rules (Quantity rules).
- The buyer signs in and the store switches to their prices.

What the theme does with it
- Prices. In Theme settings › B2B · Prices, Who sees prices is one choice: Everyone, or Trade buyers only (guests see products and a sign-in prompt). A buyer you put on hold sees no prices either way.
- Sections by audience. Many sections have Show this section to: Everyone, Guests and retail, or Trade customers. So one page can hold a section for guests ("Open a trade account") and another for trade buyers ("Reorder by part number"); each visitor sees only theirs.
- Preview. Preview the store as in Theme settings › B2B · Prices shows the page as a guest or an approved trade buyer would see it: their prices and only their sections. On Everything (editing) you see every section, each with a note saying who it is for.
- Tax. Shopify works out tax at checkout from the buyer's address, market and your tax settings; the theme shows Shopify's prices as they are and never estimates tax.
- Holds. To pause a buyer without deleting anything, set their (or their company's)
b2b.approvedmetafield to false (Metafields).
Hiding a price in the theme is a display choice, not security: Shopify's checkout decides what someone can buy. Use catalogs to control that.
